The album’s wider palette pulls from Fela Kuti’s Afrobeat, Brazilian rhythm, disco, and Jamaican dancehall culture, and Bridges has built a companion live show around that same spirit, complete with a horn section, a vinyl DJ, and himself back out front dancing rather than anchored behind a guitar. “Watch You Dance” fits that mission statement almost too perfectly, a song explicitly about the power of letting go physically, released by an artist doing exactly that on stage.
