Medikal ft. Shatta Wale – Sika

Medikal and Shatta Wale are getting heavy attention with “Sika,” a Ghanaian rap and dancehall single released on October 2 through Ziiki Media. Listeners have been streaming it steadily since it arrived, and it had passed 650,000 plays on Audiomack at the time of writing.

Medikal is a Ghanaian rapper known for sharp Twi bars and a confident, street-aware delivery. His catalog includes the albums The Truth and Abonten, plus the Healing EP. Shatta Wale is the dancehall voice that fans have long paired with him, and “Sika” is reported to be their ninth official collaboration.

The title is the Akan word for money, and the song keeps that theme at its center, with ambition and financial success driving the writing. Atown TSB produced the record, and its mid-tempo hip-hop setup gives each artist room to work. Medikal handles the rap-led sections, while Shatta Wale brings his dancehall presence to the exchange. At just under two and a half minutes, the song moves quickly.

The attention comes from the pairing itself. Medikal and Shatta Wale share a long history that includes “Shoulder” from 2025, also produced by Atown TSB, and the song follows Medikal’s September duet “Allo” with Kelvyn Boy. Fans who know those earlier records had a reason to press play right away, and the play count shows they did.

MusicPorta says: “Sika” works because both artists sound completely at ease. Medikal’s phrasing is crisp and rhythmic, and Shatta Wale’s dancehall cadence adds grit and a hook that sticks. Atown TSB keeps the beat clean and steady, so the vocals stay in front. It is a tight, confident record from two artists who know how to play off each other.

MusicPorta Rating: ★★★★★
