Jamie T – Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)

Jamie T is back at the top of the conversation with Ghosts (100 Days of Morning), the album that landed on October 9 and has spent its first week pulling listeners in fast. Midweek UK sales figures put it ahead of every other new release, which makes it one of the biggest music stories of the week.

The South London songwriter has built his name on sharp storytelling, restless energy, and a gift for turning everyday nights into something bigger. This is his sixth album and his first since The Theory of Whatever in 2022, the record that gave him his first UK Number 1.

Wait Till You See What’s Next:  Remi Wolf – Mud

The record runs eleven tracks, ten of them originals. The eleventh is his take on “Ghosts,” the song Paul Weller wrote for The Jam, which sits at the heart of the project. Opener “3310” is named after the old Nokia phone and sets the tone, while “Tallahassee” closes the album with a sample of Leif Vollebekk’s song of the same name. Jamie T built the songs from years of voice notes and sketches, and the themes are growing up, love, loss, and the ache of old nights out. Production comes from several hands, including James Dring, Hugo White of The Maccabees, and Olly Burden, with Damon Albarn also reported among the collaborators.

Wait Till You See What’s Next:  Omah Lay - Clarity Of Mind (ALBUM)

The timing explains the buzz. After a four-year gap, a run of singles with striking videos, a one-off London show, and a string of acoustic dates around release week, fans had plenty to react to. Early sales numbers show Ghosts (100 Days of Morning) leading the new entries, and it is on course for a second straight chart-topper. A UK tour is also set for December.

MusicPorta says: Jamie T writes like someone who has lived every line, and that is the strength here. The vocal delivery stays conversational and a little bruised, the arrangements leave room for the stories to breathe, and the choice to cover a Weller classic shows real musical confidence. This is a songwriter at full command of his voice, and it deserves a front-to-back listen.

MusicPorta Rating: ★★★★★
