Arctic Monkeys “AM” Continues to Trend With Its Timeless Rock Sound

Arctic Monkeys’ AM continues to attract listeners more than a decade after its original release. The band’s fifth studio album remains a strong part of the group’s catalog, with its lasting popularity reflected in its continued chart activity and enormous streaming audience.

Released in September 2013, AM marked a major shift in Arctic Monkeys’ sound. Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Matt Helders, and Nick O’Malley brought together the band’s alternative rock foundation with heavier guitar work, tight grooves, and a more polished production style.

The album is built around 12 tracks, including “Do I Wanna Know?”, “R U Mine?”, “Arabella,” “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?”, “Snap Out of It,” and “I Wanna Be Yours.” Its appeal comes from the contrast between strong guitar lines, controlled drums, memorable melodies, and Turner’s unmistakable vocal delivery.

What makes AM notable right now is its staying power. The album continues to appear on UK chart listings in 2026, while current streaming data shows millions of daily plays across the record. That sustained interest has kept songs from the album in circulation with both longtime Arctic Monkeys fans and newer listeners.

MusicPorta says: AM remains one of Arctic Monkeys’ strongest records because its guitar work, grooves, vocal character, and carefully shaped production still sound distinctive. It is an album with enough musical weight to reward repeat listening without losing its immediate appeal.
