Asake cancels Los Angeles concert
Asake fans in Los Angeles just got some heartbreaking news.
The Afrobeats star has cancelled his Los Angeles show on the ongoing “In God We Trust” world tour, and up till now, nobody on his team has come out to say why.
The concert was billed for The Greek Theatre on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and ticket holders found out the way nobody wants to find out, through a cancellation notice rather than a statement from Asake himself.
What the notice said
The message sent to ticket buyers read: “Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled. The Asake ‘In God We Trust’ show at The Greek Theatre on Sunday, September 6th, 2026 has been cancelled.”
Buyers were told refunds would land back on their cards within five business days, with an extra two to three days for the money to actually clear. “No action is required on your part,” the notice added.
That’s it. No explanation, no reason, nothing else.
Fans are picking sides
Naturally, social media didn’t waste time filling in the silence. Some fans are convinced the cancellation came down to low ticket sales. Others are pushing back hard, insisting the show was close to selling out before the announcement dropped.
Neither Asake nor his team has confirmed anything either way, so for now it’s just theories flying around.
The bigger picture
This Los Angeles date was part of Asake’s 13-city “In God We Trust” tour, which kicked off in July in support of his latest album M$NEY, his first independent project under Giran Republic and Empire. The tour covers major cities across the US, Canada, and Europe, including London, Paris, Atlanta, Toronto, Houston, and Miami.
What makes this one sting a bit more is Asake’s track record. This is a man who has filled up London’s O2 Arena and New York’s Madison Square Garden back to back. Cancellations at this scale just don’t happen often with him, which is exactly why people are so curious about what actually went down.
As at the time of this report, Asake was still listed to perform in Houston on September 4, with London and Paris still on the calendar after that.
